Purpose
It is the mission of PANA to advocate for patient safety, access to quality care and the profession of nurse anesthesia. The PANA Advocate of the Year award was created to recognize a certified registered nurse anesthetist or student registered nurse anesthetist that exemplifies the use of advocacy or grassroots efforts to advance the nurse anesthesia profession. This award will be presented to an individual who, through legislative, regulatory or legal work, or through a specific project, is an advocate not only for our profession, but for our members.
Award
The recipient of this award will receive a plaque designating such at the PANA Spring Symposium.
Eligibility
The nominee must:
- Be a student or CRNA member of PANA
Criteria
Nomination submissions should include details on one or more of the following:
- Legislative, regulatory or legal efforts contributing to the advancement of the nurse anesthesia practice
- Details on specific advocacy projects or services which supported the PANA mission
- Presentations or educational sessions provided by nominee
- Examples of incorporation of advocacy Involvement in professional organizations
- Examples of advancing the nurse anesthesia profession at the individual’s facility/hospital through advocacy efforts.
