District 5 Officers

Officers 2013 - 2014:

President - Erica Poole, MSN, CRNA. - A 2005 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Nurse Anesthesia program, Erica works as a staff CRNA at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and also participates in the UPP tier program at Presbyterian Hospital, Shadyside Hospital, Magee-Women's Hospital, and Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh. Currently, Erica also serves PANA as the chair of PANA-PAC.

President-Elect - Gretchen Tunstall, MS, CRNA graduated from Allegheny Valley School of Nurse Anesthesia/LaRoche College in 2004. She was employed at Allegheny General Hospital as a CRNA until 2006 when she relocated to Alabama. After working as a staff anesthetist for Anesthesia Associates of Alabama, Gretchen returned to Pittsburgh in 2007 and has worked as a staff CRNA at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh ever since. In 2012, Gretchen served as PANA District 5 Secretary and as a trustee in 2011. She is a guest speaker for Allegheny Valley's Nurse Anesthesia program, giving lectures to SRNAs on pediatric anesthesia care.

Secretary - Amy McConaghy, MS, CRNA. Amy is a 1997 graduate of St. Francis School of Anesthesia with a Master's of Health Science. She is employed as a CRNA at UPMC St. Margaret's Hospital in Aspinwall and participates in the UPP tier program. Amy was a PANA District 5 trustee for 2012 - 2013.

Treasurer - Marc Wicker, MSN, CRNA, graduated from the University of Pittsburgh Nurse Anesthesia Program in 2008. Marc currently practices at UPMC Presbyterian as a staff nurse anesthetist. Marc is also the CRNA education director at Presbyterian as well as the CRNA Coordinator at the WISER Center where he directs several classes ranging from central venous cannulation to management of difficult airways. Marc serves as adjunct faculty at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing.

Trustees:
Jenny Singleton, MS, CRNA, is a 1999 graduate of Westmoreland/Latrobe LaRoche School of Nurse Anesthesia and is a staff CRNA at UPMC St. Margaret's Hospital.

Molly Fries, MSN, CRNA, a 2009 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Nurse Anesthesia Program, is currently a staff CRNA at UPMC Presbyterian.

Carrie Haggerty, MSN, CRNA, has been a Registered Nurse since 1990, with experience at both Shadyside Hospital and Allegheny General hospitals. In 2006, Carrie entered graduate school at the University of Pittsburgh to pursue a career in nurse anesthesia. After finishing in April of 2009, Carrie began working as a CRNA for UPMC. Currently, she is a member of the call team at UPMC Mercy Hospital and also works at other UMPC hospitals including UPMC Presbyterian, UPMC Shadyside and UPMC Magee Women's Hospital. She is active with the Pitt High School Scholars Academy, bringing in young talented high school students to the OR for a shadow day.
