Welcome Pennsylvania CRNA's to the new PANA Flash email newsletter. I hope everyone's holidays where good. the PANA is hoping to start a new service to it's CRNA's this year, where we hope to provide a more up to date synopsis of information that might help make your practice easier, or at least give you more to talk about in the operating room! The easiest way to do this is through Email! Look for a monthly assessment of PANA operations, as well as an informative newsletter relating to information useful in your practice, or information to help you get more involved in the running of your state organization. Those of you in the past who have expressed interest, and given the AANA your email address, are already on the list to receive. Spread the word today to your CRNA co-workers and friends so they can keep up to date too. All they need do is submit their email address to the PANA at www.pana.org and set their email format to HTML.

Have You Finalized your Plans for CRNA Week?

Well, If your anything like me, CRNA week is only a few weeks away, and I just got my promotional pack order form in the mail today. The volume of requests was huge last year so the AANA hired an outside company to print and distribute the materials. Make your requests TODAY if you want something in time! You can send an Email to aana@absinet.com or fax you order to 630-627-4421 and probably still get it in time. Call your hospital's PR department to see if they can arrange a special photo opportunity with the local newspaper and your PA Legislator. Use the simple to communicate ideas provided in the promo packet and your natural charisma to make a statement! At the least, if you can't get a packet in time copy this black and white poster and post it everywhere you go. Even the supermarket!

PANA Lobby Day at the Capitol to Commemorate CRNA Week in Pennsylvania: Tuesday, January 24th

There is a most exciting and interesting upcoming event that I would like to recommend to EVERY CRNA in Pennsylvania. That is the PANA's Annual Lobby Day event. After several years of work on strategy, the PANA's lobby and management organization, the Winter Group has perfected an event that leaves you tired, but which opens the door for you to meet your State Legislators. Support is great from Mark Singel, Peg Moyer, Angie Armbrust and Nathan Mains. People who find themselves initially intimidated by the Capitol, are speaking freely to any Senator or Representative who comes along. They really are nice people who want to talk with you! This years agenda is as follows:

• Strategy Session at The Winter Group at NOON
• Legislative visits from 1 PM to 4 PM
• Reception with Legislators in the Main Rotunda at 5 PM
