Merle H. Phillips, the Majority Caucus Administrator of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, has served continuously in the House as a State Representative since March 1980. He represents the 108th Legislative District, which includes parts of Northumberland and Snyder Counties.
As a Republican House Member, who has completed 25 years of legislative service. Representative Phillips is in his seventh term as Majority Caucus Administrator. In his previous term, he has served as Republican Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Game and Fisheries Committee, as Secretary of the Agricultural and Rural Affairs Committee, and as a member of the Transportation and Appropriations Committee.
Representative Phillips was formerly the President of Irish Valley Food Processing. His military service includes 4 1/2 years active duty in the Marine Corps and 2 years in the Reserves. He attended Susquehanna University and Lower Mahoney Township High School, 1946.
Representative Phillips serves on the Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Church Board of Trustees, YMCA Board of Directors, Sunbury Community Hospital Board of Trustees, to name a few of the organizations that he donates time to. He has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors from his community and peers.
