| CRNA Week Events as celebrated by PANA Members |

- $1700 Collected by District V Students and CRNA for Local Charity:
During CRNA week it was a PR project for the students to donate time, money and resourses to food banks in the different parts of the state. Kathleen Pieffer, a student at Holy Spirit Hospital from Drexel University, along with Kengein Yeager ask CRNA's from District V to donate money. The donation of $1700 was presented to Elaine Strokoff, the director of Downtown Daily Bread, at their board meeting on Tuesday evening. Downtown Daily Bread is the charity that the PANA supports at our spring meeting in Hershey.

- Students and CRNA's from The University of Pittsburgh spent their days during CRNA Week helping out at the East End Cooperative Ministry in Pittsburgh
The anesthetists enjoyed their week, doing whatever task possible to help out those visiting the Ministry. Food and cash they collected at the hospital was donated to the Ministry. Check out the ECM's blog on their visit!

- Wyoming Valley Health Care System/University of Scranton School of Nurse Anesthesia celebrating National Nurse Anesthetists Week at the St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen.
19 first year and 23 second year students from the WVHCS/Uof Scranton School of Nurse Anesthesia were accompanied by their School Directors Caroline Raskiewicz - Program Administrator, Jo Ann Platko, Assistant Program Administrator and Ann Culp - Clinical Director at the St. Vincent de Paul's Soup Kitchen and Food Bank. They volunteered Monday, January 20 through Thursday January 24 in observance of nurse anesthesia week. They were also featured on WNEP-TV Good Morning Pennsylvania at various times during the Good Morning America local station break.

- Marie A. DeFrancesco-Loukas, SRNA sent a few pictures from Villanova University's SRNAs who volunteered the entire week at various soup kitchens in Philadelphia.

- Students from York College of Pennsylvania/Wellspan Health Nurse Anesthetist Program invited PA State Representative Eugene DePasquale from York County to visit them while they served meals at the York Rescue Mission. Representative Eugene DePasquale came to support the Mission and the CRNAs on Monday January 21st, 2008.
